Mind

The mind is our tool for recognition of the earth as our universal source of energy and life. As thinking beings we are able to communicate knowledge to one another and maintain stewardship of our environment in a responsible and sustainable manner. We use many forms of language to connect with one another and convey the wealth of knowledge accumulated by our predecessors, and each of us is endowed with a responsibility to interpret this wisdom and add to it in order to maintain the growth and sustainance of our culture.

Permaculture and Farming Studies

Permaculture studies demonstrate the connection between cultivation of food and medicinals, consumption, growth, and regeneration as a cyclical process. Each step is inherently linked to the others, and permaculture studies emphasises these connections through the integrated teaching of farming techniques, including preparation of the land, cultivation of plant resources, and seed saving. The fundamental goal of permaculture studies is to coexist in harmony with our environment, through conscious living and continuous creation.

Natural Building Techniques

Natural building techniques teach methods of utilizing the materials at hand to sustainably provide shelter and structure. Different types of structures such as straw bale, cob, and bamboo are suited to unique environments, enabling us to utilize our resources with minimal wastes of materials or energy. Natural building structures are both aesthetically harmonious and practical for the areas in which they are built, due to the conscious selection of materials and the ways in which they are designed.

Land Management

Land management teaches community cooperation and techniques for responsible continuation of the founding principles of the places in which we live. This is important because our land is the root of our society, our sustainance, our energy source, and our home. Co-ops and Trusts are examples of organizational structures which allow an area to be legally structured around the ideals of its residents. By creating a well-planned logistical framework for the governing of the land, a community can ensure the preservation of its home for generations to come.

Renewable Energy Sources

The use of renewable energy sources is vital for responsible use of technology without expending valuable resources or creating pollution. Fossil fuels negligently deplete more than they generate, with the unpleasant side effect of air pollution from combustion and ground water pollution from chemical fuels. Sustainable resources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power require less resources to create and eventually produce far more than the expense of their creation, with minimal pollution. Conscious selection of energy sources is a crucial component of a long-term sustainable lifestyle.

Holistic Academics

Holistic academic studies provide a basis for further exploration and personal expression within traditional communication parameters. Sacred geometry studies provide a visual source for harmonic relationships and placement. Number studies such as vedic math and numerology demonstrate a mathematic explanation of universal principles. Literature and poetry studies explore the link between language as a form of communication to others as well as an expression of our own thoughts and ideas.
